Abstract

If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to treat everything as if it were a nail. But is it really so? Some thoughts on what determined the evolution of the finding aids, of the publication of archival databases on the web and of archival information systems. In this article we will analyze several of the solutions adopted during the time, trying to understand if these actually respond to the needs of the users of the archives.
